DIY Makerbot-Style 3D Printer for $250



3D modeling is fun, but it’s 10 times better when you can physically print your creations right at your desk. The problem is, 3D printing is typically extremely expensive. But…Not anymore. Inspired by the MakerBot 3D printer, this DIYer build his own 3D printer for about $250.

Based on the initial pictures, the results are a little messy (you can see various bits of plastic where there shouldn’t be). But, for a first prototype, it’s not bad at all. Check out more of our DIY fabrication projects below:
